Love

Love rests on no foundation.
It is an endless ocean,
with no beginning or end.
Imagine,
a suspended ocean,
riding on a cushion of ancient secrets.
All souls have drowned in it,
and now dwell there.
One drop of that ocean is hope,
and the rest is fear.

Hi Carla. Ah, Rumi. Strings of the heart, eh? Only Rumi can add to such ruminations. Let's see...

Birdsong brings relief
to my longing.

I am just as ecstatic as they are,
but with nothing to say!

Please, universal soul, practice
some song, or something, through me!

Dance, when you're broken open.
Dance, if you've torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance, when you're perfectly free.

Yeah, Rumi knew. Nice post, Carla. Rumi's food for thew soul.

Have a great Friday, Carla.

Rowena, Thanks so much.

JBelle, It makes me feel like traveling. Especially with all the rain we've been having here.

Fool, Yes, Rumi certainly seemed to know. Thanks for the add ons, very apt quotes for spring.

Brian, I'm glad you enjoyed the poem.

Sandi, A cold Mexican brew and some warm sunshine would be nice.
