I am so enamored with the delightfully delicious lyrics from Charles Edward Carryl's almost forgotten 19th century poem, the Sleepy Giant brought back to life by Natalie Merchant's smokey sweet voice. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Who would've known? Little boys do not like being chewed.

What a lovely little song, Carla.
We're Doomed, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I am so fascinated by this one.
That's great! I love her voice, and it suits the poem perfectly.
I so agree, Cheryl. I love her voice and it's perfect for the song.
That's great. Is that off her new album? I'll have to look into more from that album...
Very nice, Carla. Thanks!
Oh, I just LOVE her voice!! I heard someone once describe it once as "corduroy" and the apt image has stuck with me forever.
Hope the deer are leaving you some tulips today?! :)

VE, Yes, that's off her new album. I still need to check out the rest too, but if it's anything like this song, I'm all over it.
Aa, So glad you like it. Almost soothing, despite the words.
Jannie, Isn't she terrific?! I'm afraid the deer have been nibbling at my tulips, but I have beautiful daffodils.
Blue Bunny, It sounds like Jannie has been holding out her best voice on you. You best be listening a little more carefully. But Natalie is great, isn't she?
I enjoyed that, Carla...thank-you.
