A great photo, and interesting quote to go with it.

Debbie, I'm glad you like the photo. Even as I took it, I thought the light breaking through the clouds was amazing.

Thanks Dawn.

How very true - and the photo enhances the meaning so beautifully.

Captured at the right moment - such is the patience of a photographer - congratulations.

Stunning photo Carla, I love it.

Peter, Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw. I was in the right place at the right time.

Rowena, I have a feeling that you would have a lot of fun with a crazy carpet. And it certainly would make some good video footage. I can see it now.

It's all up to us!

Carla said...

Mark, it most certainly is, it most certainly is.

Carla, chapeau! Yes, it is possible to have a stroke of luck as you say, but I'd rather believe that it is the persistence of the photographer that pays back. He/She already knows that the right combination of subject, light and ambient will be there sometime to portrait a beautiful outlook.
So...I don't think it is only luck.

Question: Is it printable? And what would be the maximum size you can enlarge it before it loses definition?
Good night and good luck.

Carla said...

Fede, I agree, it isn't only luck. One does need a certain way to see things to see the picture, recognize its beauty and to be able to capture it. But the luck certainly was that in that specific moment at that place I happened to have my camera with me and was in a position to get a good shot. The light shifted so quickly that had I been even a couple minutes later, I would have missed it.

No, no...I will only participate in an adventurous life if you double-dare me...

I'm trying to picture a daring adventure in the soundless dark.

How did she ever know what to say.

Carla said...

Sirdar, There are so many good quotes out there by inspirational people. Things I need to keep in mind more often.

Steffi, Oh, how exciting! I'm working on it right now. Hopefully I'll post later today.

Carla said...

Pamela, It is a mystery, isn't it? I've wondered the same thing myself.

That is quiet a photo. You can look at it forever!

It looks very cold....BRRRR!!!

;o)

Carla said...

Jillie, It was a chilly morning, indeed. But I was mesmerized by the sight.

The Fool said...

Indeed! Tell me about the boat, Nomad...

Carla said...

Fool, I am very sorry about the delayed response. The truth is, I was told about this boat but the details are kind of fuzzy now and I was going to try and get the info again. It belongs to a family in Hamburg. Apparently the history of this family's involvement in shipping in Hamburg goes back further than anyone else's. I can't remember how long (or he name of the family)...but it is at least a few hundred years, perhaps longer.
