Steffi's Meme

Thanks to Steffi over at Mausbär's Nähkiste who asked me to complete this meme.

1. Jobs ... where I worked...

If I start at the very beginning...Nelson Golf Course (I worked as a waitress); Vienna Cafe (waitress); The Hummingbird Gallery (frame shop and gallery); I did a short stint as a highway flag person; various teaching jobs - University of Sherbrooke, Red Deer College, Canadian International College, Cegep de Rimouski, Ecole Westview School, School district #23 and School District #8; Publishing - Gage Learning, Thomson Nelson, Mysotis Press; Staffing and Recruiting Consultant - Tech Recruiting Ltd; Biofeedback therapist. (Whew! That's kind of crazy. There may well be a few in there that I have missed but you to get the idea.)

2.Movies...
Delicatessen, Amelie, The Red Violin, Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride, and so many other....

3. Places where I've lived ...
I grew up in Nelson, BC, so I guess it's kind of ironic that I'm back. Other places where I have lived in between, in chronological order, Victoria, Quebec City, Rimouski, Prince Rupert, Kelowna, Vancouver.

4. Series...
I don't watch a lot of TV shows but I tend to enjoy "cop" shows: Law & Order; Criminal Minds; CSI

5. My favourite food ...
If you get me started on food, I just may not be able to stop...isn't it everyone's big love? Okay, I'll try to keep it short: cherries, chocolate, lox, crepes (only the way my Mom makes them with berries and whipped cream), whipped cream...it goes great on just about anything, cheese, fondu, raclette, pasta, really, I could be here all day.

6. My favourite websites ...
Where does one start? My daily blogroll, of course. For the rest...it kind of depends on mood and what I'm looking for.

7. My favourite places ...
Nelson (of course) especially in the mountains.
West coast of Norway (very happy in the Bergen area)
Amrum (this small island in the North Sea is a new favorite place...someday I will live there and write books)
Rocky Mountains (how can one not be happy in the midst of such beauty)
Switzerland (Have had good experiences in both Geneva and Zurich. What's not to like? Very friendly people, amazing food, chocolate, beautiful scenery...ah, the list goes on.)
Pienza (a place where one can forget all their former lives, the incessant business and, perhaps for the first time in life, simply exist)

8. My favourite colours ...
Sapphire Blue
The colour of Lake Louise
Cherry Red
Earthy colours (for my house)

Now I suppose I really should tag someone. Who would like to participate? Let me know. I'd like to see all your answers.

Thanks for sharing - and thanks for the info about yogurt making. I've tried something similar before and haven't had any luck. Maybe my apartment is just too drafty? However, I didn't try it with the warm water so I will give that a shot.

How about tagging someone who lives in SOCAL?
Good night and good luck.

Melanie, Not a problem. The other thing that will kill the yogurt is if the milk is too hot when you add the culture. Good luck.

Tracey, I'll definitely link you. Thanks for stopping by...I feel like it's been awhile.

Carla said...

Fede, Do you live in Socal? Then consider yourself tagged. I'll drop by later to see your response.

SOCAL=South California...sorry but I recently joined the surf-dude club...
Thanks for the tag. Since I am enjoying my accounting homework you may want to stop by tomorrow...account receivables...dividend payables...treasury stock.
Girls like me when I talk like that, how does it feel when you read them? SMILE

I didn't realize that you once lived in my home province (Qc). Also, I used to spend an insane amount of time at the Vienna cafe (used book and cd portion of the place). Were you there from 2001-2002? I wonder if we ever bumped into each other when I lived in Nelson.

mmmm foood.

well you know i've had a big bum for 40 years and it was only when I returned home from Vancouver and made my own dinner of teryaki trout and risotto that I realised - I love food. But. Good food, simple food, well prepared and tasty. Frozen veggies and microwave dinners do not do it for me. Less and good. That is my way forward.

Fede, Love reading those words ;-) Keep them coming. Thanks.

Bohemian Girl, Yep, it seems like I've been to one end of the country and back. That's so funny about the Vienna cafe. I would have already left, but perhaps would have run into you during the summer or winter holidays.

Pinks, I so get that. I'm a total food snob. I absolutely love food, but not the kind that comes out of a box or package. I didn't even try Kraft dinner until I was 19, if you can believe that. But good food...mmm. Thanks for tagging yourself.

Steffi, You are most welcome. It's kind of fun to do these sorts of posts.

Thanks Tracey. I'll be linking you just as soon as I have a moment to breathe. Am I able to link your censored blog?

Lots of jobs but I see you settled on teaching. What did you teach?

You've lived in some nice places...however I reserve judgement on Prince Rupert as I haven't been there but it is in a nice part of the world.

I also love the mountains. I could live in Jasper without a moments hesitation. I also love the look of Lake Luise. Good meme!!

Nikkipolani, Thanks for dropping by. Raclette always gets my mouth drooling. Hmmm...think you're right about a little party.

VE, Hmmm....not quite sure Aaaa has the same ring to it. Makes me think I'm sitting in either a doctor's or dentist's chair.

Sirdar, I've taught a whole lot. French, English, French Immersion (math, science, francais langue...) Learning Assistance. The list just doesn't seem to end.
