The Goslings are Back

This morning as I was out for a walk, I heard a cacophony of honking. I hurried down towards the water thinking it was nothing but the regular gaggle paddling about, and there they were...but just off to the side were two parents nudging their little goslings into the water. Obviously I couldn't get all that close as these geese are rather protective of their young and given their size, I certainly wouldn't want to get in their way. But I did manage a few pics before they floated off beyond my reach. Unfortunately I was fumbling with my lens and they were well into the water before I took the first picture.

Ah the signs of spring!

I saw a few at Hyde Park a few weeks ago. Very sweet. And, I'm sure they were Canadian Geese here, like me, on a temporary work visa ;)

Larry, In retrospect, I really shouldn't have said the goslings are back because there's a new set every year. But I'm sure the geese have been around before.

Pinks, They really are darling to see, aren't they? The goslings, that is.

Good evening, Nomad. The signs of new life each spring is rejuvenating. That cacophany is a hymn of nature. It has a special place with me. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. :)

They are so wonderful to see - and it must have been so exciting for you too. Just goes to show one must always have one's camera on standby!!

Fool, It is very peaceful, indeed.

Winters, The right kind of cacophony is indeed a beautiful thing.

Peter, Unfortunately I don't always remember to have my camera on hand.

We have babies at our lake too. I love how they just follow along... If all our children minded so well.

I wish I had a near by pond to go for a walk, but I only have a pretty decent artificial lake a few miles away. It is so fake! But I'll see if I can contribute with seals form the Ocean.
Oh, by the way, didn't you tell me there was a missing gosling? I think I found it here:

Sorry about that!

Sandi, No doubt about it, they are cute. And if children minded so well...well, they wouldn't need to be reared until they are almost 20.

Fede, Sorry to be a sceptic...but somehow I can't quite see you being sorry about that last one. But it made me smile just the same. Thanks.

I love love love seeing the little goslings! I've seen them a few times as I was driving by, but I doubt the cars behind me would've been pleased to have me suddenly stop to snap some shots. :( Gee, I don't know why! I never seem to see them in a nice secluded spot. Ah well. I'm glad you were able to catch a picture. :)

Debbie, I have been in similar situations many times...where the picture would be perfect but there just is any opportunity to place to safely stop. Oh well...I guess those can be memories.

Debbie, hmm...I realize I just pressed "publish comment" before proofing. Read "isn't any opportunity," and "or place." Thanks.
