A New Resolution

As the New Year is rung in, many of us become reflective of who we are and where we are going. We make resolutions to change or better the parts of ourselves we believe are negative. In due time, many of us revert back to how we were previously and feel like failures. Not to minimize the importance and value of trying to be the best that we can, but this year I challenge you to a new resolution: I challenge you to be yourself. Sure, be kind, not just to others, but also to yourself. Be forgiving, if it's warranted and try to look at all situations through the lens of love. As Napoleon once said, "in the long run, the sword is always beaten by the spirit." May you have much spirit in the coming year. I wish you all an abundance of love and happiness. What more could we really want or need?

Thank you! Same back atcha! You make a good point about resolutions. We can come up with things we want to be mindful about - but setting pass/fail resolutions doesn't make much sense.

You want us to like ourselves? What kind of mumble-jumble crap is that? Just kidding Carla. I have always thought if you want people to like you. You must like yourself. If you can't like the person you are, why should other people? Happy New Year!

Chani, I hope you have a wonderful year.

We're Doomed, Hey, I've also always thought that. I'm just a tad wary of people who honestly don't like themselves. Have a wonderful year.

Rowena, Thank you for your New Year's wishes. I hope your worst days in 2010 are no worse than your best in 2009.

Aaoiue, No, I didn't really lose you, I simply found the holidays a little too hectic to check in. Happy New Year to you.

Beautiful.......I was happy to wish in this new year with a lighter heart too, I tried to implement better habits along the way so they were already, (ok at least two), were in place when that ball took a fall.
