April Fool's

Could someone tell me, is it true? Have we really passed the spring equinox? The weather seems to be a little confused these days and I think it's high time someone lets him know that spring was supposed to officially start almost a week and a half ago...this is what I woke up to this morning. Don't get me wrong, it's lovely, just not quite what I'd expect for April. I guess the groundhog must have seen his shadow this year.

Such is life, one cannot even trust the groundhog nowadays. I like your picture but I see why it must have been depressing. Especially if you were already set for a weather improvement. I remember when I lived in Europe and spring struggled to manifest itself because of few days of rain. Such a pain. I no longer have those problems though.
Good night and good luck ... from a sunny place.

Yikes! I can imagine that you'd be tired of the white stuff, as I'm sure that Blanche has long departed by now. Let's hope it looks better next week? We wanna see some bears!

Great picture,Carla!

I am sooooo confused!

G'morning Nomad. We're going through the same confusion up here...the geese are expected to return in about two weeks, yet we awoke to snow yesterday morning, too. Yes, it's time for spring...

Fede, I don't know, I still prefer this weather over the scorching heat. It must be my Nordic blood.

Rowena, Yes, Blanche has long since departed. She was a flighty one, she was. And I'm hoping for bears too. Last year there was a black one who would make his way down to the lake to drink. I'm hoping he comes back.

Steffi, Thanks.

JBelle, I know, me too.

Fool, We'll be happy when spring arrives, but then cursing the scorching heat if it comes too soon. The other day song birds were out and now they have all but disappeared. I wonder where they're hiding.

With a "wake up" view as you depict beautifully - one would be over joyed. Albeit curl back under the quilt...

Yes spring is uncertain to make an appearance here too - with snow - although in saying that today - has been so glorious with sunshine throughout and even folk wearing T-shirts - so hopefully spring will make an appearance for all in Canada too.

Peter, That particular day I certainly did feel like crawling back under the covers. But it certainly does look beautiful.

Pinks, I would definitely say that there is a case for climate change, but whether or not that is global warming still remains to be see.

Awsome picture! It looks so magic!

Carla said...

Bernadette, Thanks. It did actually feel kind of magical, even though I am now looking forward to spring.

The weather has been crazy! Ready for the warmth of the sun!

My family that lives in the midwest is not laughing at their weather. They are SO ready for summer. Forget the spring!

Sending some warmer weather your way.

It isn't much different here. Our yard is still covered in snow except where we had paths. The other areas have as much as a foot covering them, including the gardens. Seems like a real cruel joke. On the other hand, next week we are going to our annual conference and there have been a few years where the parking is wonky because of the snow covering the lines in the parking lot. Maybe it is just expectation.

We had two days of snow and hail in late March, here in England.

And now, barely a week later, it's sunny and spring-like.

Very strange...

it is a great photo and yet i am still feeling robbed. i have been ready for spring weather for a while now. that groundhog must have seen a HUGE shadow... i am beginning to feel that the warmth may never come.

Carla said...

Mark, I certainly here you...I could do with a little warmth myself.

Jillie, I so appreciate you sending me some of that nice weather...it's getting better, but still not where it should be at this time of year.

Carla said...

Dawn, It certainly sounds chilly where you are. The snow has basically melted around here now, but every second day or so, I see it snowing high on the mountains, so I know we're not entirely out of it yet.

Simon, I am hoping that spring will soon be on its way here too as well. The weather seems to be confusing all of us this year.

Carla said...

Pandave, I so hear you...ready for spring here, looking forward to summer. And whoever lets the groundhog out next year had better make sure that there's not a shadow to be seen anywhere.

Well....we haven't exactly been blessed with spring around here yet either. You should be getting spring before us. But, it is getting warmer so lets hope we get spring soon.

Carla said...

Sirdar, I'm feeling optimistic today. It's got to be on its way soon.

Pamela said...

yup.. I think winter & spring are playing Tag You're It.

Pamela, Reports are that it's supposed to be warm here by the weekend...almost summer weather. We'll see, but I'd like to hope so.
