My Rhodo is in full bloom. The blossoms sport a soft pink which turn to an almost snowy white once they're fully opened.
The Chives are blooming wildly...and although I probably shouldn't be letting them go to seed so quickly, they look so lovely that I can't bare to pluck off the purple blossoms.
The following is a parade of Pansies that are coming up just about everywhere. Somehow I even have a slew of tiny delicate wild ones that have somehow seeded themselves. They are so cheery that I am more than happy to let them do their own thing.
The Iris stands proudly surveying the whole yard. You don't see it in this picture, but there is actually a little bee seeking shelter from the rain inside its petals.
My garden sings in the rain. How about yours?

I agree with your garden! That is perfect weather. :) Mine's a bit parched here. According to the news reports, the governor just declared a "drought".

Chani, I totally understand. I actually prefer cooler weather myself and most of the time don't mind the rain at all. And I always appreciate a good thunderstorm every once in awhile as well.
Steffi, My flowers have been doing very well this year with the rain and cooler weather. I quite enjoy them.
My brassicas, onions/garlic/shallots and potatoes,have been singing in the cool rain, but I think my early planted beans are only shivering.
Burdock boy, I know what you mean...I'm kind of worrying for my tomatoes. They really do appreciate the heat.

Although the tomatoes and tiger eggplants are posturing for more sun, I'd say the rest of the garden is delighted for the excess rain. It's just that the lawn is growing, it seems, an inch or so everyday and that means mowing the grass every w/e!

my mom loved her iris. I only have one and it's a tiny variety that grows by our pond.
I think the sky is preparing for another deluge -- I plan to step outside and listen... to see if if my flowers sing.
my garden does ok...I on the other hand, catch a cold :(

The garden is lovely today after a week of rain. I learned how to reset the ISO on my camera and took a series of rhodo shots just for you! And I even, get this, have one two roses blooming. Climbing Shot Silk and Climbing Dream Weaver. June 08?
Just went to a craft/antiques show and bought some gorgeous British Columbian jade. It is to die for. Prettier than any I saw in VietNam or India....But that's about right, right? ;)

JBelle, Roses blooming? How heavenly. My grandmother used to have so many roses in her garden and they would bloom all summer and sometimes right until the first snowfall. The scent was to die for. And I love craft / antique shows.
I love the shots of raindrops on flowers or leaves. My chives are all in flower too. It is rather pretty. I think I read somewhere about using them in olive oil to get an infused oil, but maybe I am imagining it.
Dawn, That's a fantastic idea...infused in olive oil. I think I might just have to try that one. They're very pretty in bloom, but it makes them not to so good to eat. But truth be told, I just can't cut the flowers.

Pandave, The reality is that I've been so busy lately that my garden has been suffering from a bit of neglect. But I look forward to being out there a bit more often in the coming week.
