Spring Has Sprung

After much eager anticipation, it seems that spring has finally decided it's time to show its face. She arrived this weekend bringing us weather reaching up to the 20's...that's Celsius for all you Americans reading. Virtually overnight a myriad of tulips and crocus decided to show their pleasure at the arrival of our long awaited visitor by donning the brightest array of colours they could muster up. The songbirds sang their hearts out in a symphony of chorus and we were all most pleased at the performance. We certainly hope honoured guest was too and that she will decide to stay.

As for me, I even took a wade up to my knees in our frigid Kootenay lake. My Nordic blood was overjoyed at the exhilaration of it all, but not quite enough to go for a total dip. Perhaps that's because I didn't have my swimsuit with me, nor a towel. Perhaps next time.

Need a wet-suit for that temperature. Good that spring eventually showed up. Today we were around 80 here (about 27 Celsius for you in Canada)...and as I said the first picture is the best. Fede is not gonna make it for its call at 10:30pm... going straight to bed. No stops.
Good night and good luck.

Wait a minute...20C? I'm jealous. We're supposed to be having those kinds of temps but so far it's a 10C up north. On the flip side, Sicily is enjoying 32...lucky buzzards.

Great spring flowers pictures;carla. Spring is my favourite season because all life start new and the life will be a little more colourful as in winter. And the temperatures are often pleasant and much better as in summer!
Have a nice day and enjoy your spring!

I know its spring because there are like 2000 frogs in the backyard and I can't seem to find any of them to tell them to be quiet. Those frogs are so crafty...

Fede, The water is exhilarating. A little nippy, but almost perfect.

Rowena, We are just about at the temperature I like best. Fabulous weather. The heat will get your way eventually, I'm sure.

Peter, I wouldn't have wanted to wait too much longer. But it is nice that it's finally here.

VE, Those frogs are slippery little buggers. I'd watch out. No knowing what that many might do.

well, there was snow on the pool cover this morning. It's sunny and nice this morning, tho. But no croci for us yet...

Steffi, Sorry, I missed your comment earlier. Yes, spring is also one of my favorite seasons. Everything feels so good after the winter months and the colours are so vibrant.

Tracey, Thanks.

JBelle, Maybe you're next on spring's stop list. Let's hope so.

Beautiful! We've hit about 14 degrees here and it's very exciting, especially after the terrible summer we had here last year, to think of the potential months of sun ahead :)

Guilty, I remember how chilly your last summer was. Let's cross our fingers that this year is better.

Thanks Pinks. Glad you like them.

Snowed here today, Carla!

JBelle, Oh dear, oh dear, that does not sound too promising. It was cool here today and I could see the snow coming down up on the mountain, but all we got was a light rain.

I love all of those spring flowers. I can remember when I was still living in Wisconsin all of the flowers springing up through the snow.

Happy spring Carla!

How wonderful we all feel - to escape outdoors - once again and enjoy spring - in all it's mystique...

Even if I have to wear - still warm clothing - it is all worthwhile.

Fool, Thanks for dropping in. We're mighty happy to see spring around these parts.

Peter, Yes, it still is a bit nippy out. But isn't the sunshine nice.

That was great a couple weeks ago. We got it too, then last week the snow began to fall. I hope the spring they are promising does arrive. The flowers here did not show their little heads, I think they knew of the snow coming.
